It is a huge pain point. Because it doesn't work you have to edit all your UTMs manually for all your links after exporting the email. 
There can be a simple logic for links with type "Other": 
You can just add a switcher: "Add UTM parameters to this link"

Marina Kryvenets FYI: The mentioned feature ("UTM are included for the merge tags too") does not work properly with links containing <> brackets. 
1) For example, on our project with this format %MERGE_TAG% it works fine
2) But in our other project merge tags are formatted this way:  <%= @variables.merge_tag_name %> or <%= merge_tag %>
In case 2 UTMs are not added to these URLs during export.

Hello Vladimir! Please be kindly advised the the UTM are incuded for the merge tages too. Is there a case where you include merge tags for the entire email and still want them not to be added to some links?

Marina Kryvenets , hello! Personally I did not notice any issues with it but katy pritchard in a comment below seems to have a valid point: If an ESP breaks their default links (view online/unsubscribe etc.) if you add UTM's, it might make sense to have possibility to deactivate UTMs in these cases. So maybe there can be the following logic: 
– When checked "Used as a special link" next to a merge tag and additional checkbox appears: "Do not add UTMs during file exports"
To be honest, I am not sure how, for example, ActiveCampaign will behave if we add a link like this: %UNSUBSCRIBELINK%?utm_source=... 
But in general, I think, it does not matter how a separate single ESP will behave. If we look at the global picture there might be ESPs that break such links with UTMs.

Hello Vladimir! Our product team is wondering if you have examples where it is not necessary to have a UTM parameter for some link.

If I added a UTM on the email level, I want to have it. There is no request to deactivate it for some links. 
My request is the opposite:
– Now they are not added to links with merge tags. I believe it was because you assume that there might be emails addresses or phone numbers or something where UTMs are not supported.
I need the following: 
––– Please either change the way it works, let users set the link type to "site" when adding merge tags (do not switch it automatically to "other")
––– Or if it is impossible for some reason please at least let user take the responsibility for it: If the link switched to "Other" allow me to use this checkbox so that after export my UTM appears in the email.

Hi has this been updated in Stripo - we are now getting an error when exporting our code and inputting into Pardot and Pardot doesn't allow UTMs on merge tags - its breaking the unsub link and view online link?

Any tips on how to manage this?
